Located in the Mission Trails Golf course on the shore of Lake Murray in San Diego, California. Ospreys have been nesting in this stand for over 10 years. Eggs take 36 to 45 days to hatch. I will include bonus pictures of interesting things I see on trips out to the osprey nest. Both the male and the female sit on the eggs and bring fish to the nest.
Bringing in a stick. Getting the nest ready.
One osprey is in the nest. Looks like the other osprey is bringing in something to make the nest more comfy.
Osprey sitting on the nest. As of 29 January I am sure there are eggs in the nest and the ospreys are sitting on the eggs. Perhaps I may get a picture of an osprey bringing in a fish.
You can just see the top of the head of an osprey sitting on the eggs.
Close up on the nest. You can see an osprey head behind a stick.
Bonus picture. A common yellow throat landed in front of me as I was taking pictures of the osprey nest.
